MG 6 (2011)

The MG6 is a sporting five seat fastback model, designed to capture the character of the MG brand and bring something different to the volume market. MG 6 is the first all new MG motor car since the launch of the MG F sports car.

Guy Jones, Sales and Marketing Director for MG Motor UK said, "This is a milestone day for the iconic MG brand and for the UK automotive industry. MG has begun the international launch of an all new model that has been designed and engineered here in the UK, for the global automotive market. Currently we only build and sell the mid-engined MG TF sports car here in the UK, but we can now look forward to expanding the range of MG products."

The launch took place at the 2009 Guangzhou Auto show in China and is the beginning of an exciting new global future for the MG brand. The launch in China, the world's largest automotive market begins the international roll out of sales of MG 6 which includes the UK. Sales in China will begin in January and plans for the UK and other markets will be released during 2010.

It was also announced that production of MG 6 for the China market will begin at the brand new state of the art factory in Lingang, China in December 2009. It is also planned to commence production of MG 6 at the Birmingham plant in the UK before the end of 2010.

Lotus Evora Carbon Concept (2010)

Lotus Evora Carbon Concept (2010)

The Lotus Evora Carbon Concept car emphasises Lotus' motorsport pedigree, utilising beautiful high quality materials with exposed carbon fibre and plush alcantara. The striking white concept car is finished in an advanced water based pearlesent paint that contrasts with the exquisitely finished weave on the carbon fibre panels.

The head turning looks of the Lotus Evora Carbon Concept car provide a more purposeful, planted stance with the car looking lower and more aggressive. This styling direction is continued with a structural carbon fibre roof, Lotus Motorsport influenced carbon diffuser and carbon splitter. The Lotus Evora Carbon Concept car retains the same class leading handling and high tech aluminium bonded and extruded chassis of the production car.

The contemporary interior of the Lotus Evora Carbon Concept car combines the lustre of the carbon panels with perforated leather and matt alcantara. The bespoke interior uses swathes of sumptuous grey alcantara to cover the footwell, dashboard and roof. The soft texture of the leather and alcantara are juxtaposed with the hard surfaces of the carbon fibre to provide a satisfying sensory experience.

The Lotus Evora Carbon Concept car has diamond cut forged 19" alloy wheels front and rear, shod with Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tyres (235/35 wide front and 285/30 wide rear). The wheels and tyres give the Lotus Evora real presence filling the wheel arches and giving the car a purposeful appearance.

Lincoln MKR Concept

Lincoln MKR Concept

A New Era of Lincoln MKR Concept Car :

The new design - created by a team led by Peter Horbury, executive director, Design, The Americas - showcases the visual elements that will influence a new generation of Lincoln products.

"We've reinterpreted the best of Lincoln designs over time, preserving the restraint and elegance synonymous with the brand," says Horbury. "The Lincoln MKR concept is sophisticated and modern, resembling an athlete - extremely strong and fit but looks elegant in a tuxedo.

"This romantic, sporting coupe should turn heads at the show. And, ultimately, this new design language will help lead us forward in the growing premium segment."

The Lincoln MKR concept features seven key exterior cues, which define modern Lincoln design:

* Clean, uncluttered surfaces
* Powerful, dynamic beltline
* Chamfered surface running parallel to the beltline
* Distinctive Lincoln bow-wave, double-wing grille opening
* Thin, horizontal taillamps that run from one side to the other
* Significant C-pillar smoothly transitioning into the cantilevered roof, and
* Powerful cantrail/roofrail.
